5 Tips on How To Stay Sane in the Self-Quarantine

It’s been several days now since we’ve been in the self-quarantine and I feel it’s been quite challenging for most people.

Working from home I have developed several practices that have helped me remain balanced, so I decided to share a few to hopefully help you stay calm during this crazy period.

1. Breathe

I have been teaching breath-work and meditation for a few years now, and what I have noticed is that a lot of people subconsciously hold their breath. This is your reminder to — EXHALE. Take a deep breath, relax the shoulders and breathe out through the mouth fully and slowly. We can regulate our mood profoundly with breath alone. Keep this in mind every single day — exhale and as you do relax your shoulders. Deep breaths into the abdomen and slow down with each breath. That way you tell the brain to relax, lower your blood pressure and slow down your heart rate. Just a few minutes a day will make a difference.

2. Meditate

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — MEDITATION is for me THE daily practice to have to stay centered, calm and balanced. More specifically, Mindfulness practice, simply being in the present moment can help save energy, gain clarity of mind and even stay productive.
