Do. Or Do Not. There Is No Try.

Word “try” has become somewhat of a trigger for people lately and I get it. We are so distracted from the outside world — everyday life, family, Netflix, pretty much anything can be a distraction when you’re not ready to take a big leap forward.

This quote from master Yoda is perfect as it explains that “trying” is actually not doing, but leaving space for failure. It’s half doing it, but not really taking the actual step forward. I must admit I needed that kick in the butt more than once.

However, the word “try” started to have another meaning for me.

Being a workaholic and a perfectionist it was really important for me to learn to be kind to myself and not pressure myself to do more than I can handle, so the word “try” actually holds a positive meaning to me these days. It’s like I’m giving myself a break, so it doesn’t have to be perfect. Embracing imperfection, so to speak. I am a doer, and I rarely procrastinate, so for me “to try” means — I will do my best, and let’s see how it goes. I still do it, but I don’t pressure myself that it has to be a certain way.

What I’m trying to say here is that words are just words, and what meaning and…
